Our Founder

ILYM Consulting's founder,  Melissa Foiles, had a vision to empower background screening companies with straightforward compliance solutions.  With accreditations in the industry that may be daunting for small and midsized consumer reporting agencies (CRAs), Melissa saw the opportunity to help guide and support organizations through the process. With a passion for helping businesses succeed, Melissa created a blueprint for personalized, results-driven  consulting services, and set out to create a company that would meet that need. She continues to uphold that same passion and commitment to excellence.

Melissa joined the background screening industry over a decade ago and has served in most of all the functions of the business,  from sales and account management to compliance and operations. She understands the critical importance of strong vendor/partner relationships and the pivotal role that a strong platform serves in the day to day of delivering reports. 

Melissa has been active in leadership with the Professional Background Screening Association (PBSA) for almost as long as she has been in the industry. She started as Chair of the former Litigation Avoidance Sub-committee, Co-Chair of the Industry Practices Committee,  Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee,  Chair of the US Council,  and currently serving the Leadership Development Committee.  She has a passion for this industry and is committed to volunteering to give back. 

Melissa holds a few Masters Degrees,  along with a paralegal certificate from an ABA certified University. Melissa recently completed Harvard Business School Online's certificate program for Management Essentials. She is a life long learner and understands how this relates to this industry. She holds an advanced FCRA certificate,  as well. 

Melissa takes the approach of teaching compliance concepts in easy to understand language so that everyone on the team can be comfortable with the content. She opens room and welcomes questions so that the team can develop a deep understanding of the information. 

In all,  Melissa is here to help individual CRAs with the goal of elevating the industry,  one group at a time.
